Short throw shifter kit for OE replacement on 5 speed manual trans in:

  • 1995-2000 Chevy & GMC C/K HD full-size trucks
    • 1500 series w/ diesel only
    • 2500 series w/ GVWR > 8500 or diesel
      • For GVWR below 8500 (except diesel), see the 1500 kits (NV3500)
      • For 7.4L gas w/ GVWR < 8500 (rare) - confirm trans model
    • 3500 series - all
  • Also fits 2001-2002 GMT480 HD classic fleet / export trucks (flat door handles)
    • Does NOT fit 2001+ GMT800 (= deeper stub)

ONLY FITS NV4500 trans specific to these GM models - RPO MW3, cast iron case

  • Replaces GM #12382823 ; 12547315; 25818; 12382808
    • Compatible w/ case cover GM #12382848 ; 26382; 12382808 - no others!
  • Does NOT FIT newer models (1/4" deeper stub), older models (shift tower is integral to lid), GVWR under 8500 lb except diesel, or any other model
    • Earlier models can be adapted w/ change to later case top for bolt-on shifter base (see last pic)
  • If your trans is not original, confirm it has a bolt-on shifter base & lid casting #18860 or 25137
    • WARNING: does NOT FIT 2001+ GM NV4500 (lid casting #33893, 1/4" taller mount)
  • 20" tall from base flange to top of knob; 22% throw reduction; ~1" higher than stock
    • IF YOU HAVE a body lift (frame spacers) or transfer case drop: use an extension bracket to elevate stick

Kit includes chrome stick #0295, classic knob, base assembly, mounting hardware, dust cover boot, and installation instructions. The base is built by Core Shifters using proven components inside a custom housing:

  • High-strength billet steel gear selector stub
  • Hardened steel cross-pin & stainless steel fulcrum pivot ring
  • Self-centering cross-gate bias springs with heat treated spring seats
  • Glass-reinforced polyamide fulcrum socket with steel wear clips
  • Rubber oil control seal with steel retaining ring
  • Extruded aluminum housing with Spirolox steel support ring
  • Laser-cut steel lid & baseplate
