How to turn off Gmail spam filter

A spam filter seems like a great idea but not when it captures emails you want to receive. Lately it seems the Gmail spam filter is doing more harm than good, and Google doesn't offer a simple way to turn it off - but we can show you how:

  1. Log into your web email https://gmail.com in your browser.

  2. Click the gear at the top right, choose Settings, then click on Filters and Blocked Addresses.



  3. Click Create a new filter.

  4. Enter is:spam in the Has the words field.



  5. Click Create filter with this search.

  6. Click OK to confirm creating the filter.



  7. Make sure that Never send it to Spam is checked and click Create filter.



  8. Your filter should now look like this:
