Core Shifter w/ Hurst stick for Ranger : M5R2 swap from 1999-2008 F-150

Short throw shifter kit for M5R2 conversion in Ford Ranger using 5 speed manual trans sourced from:

  • 1999-2008 Ford F-150
  • 1999 Ford F-250 "non-Super Duty" (GVWR < 8500)

ONLY FITS 1999 & newer Mazda R2 (M5OD) manual trans (XL34 ID tag)

  • 91mm from stub tip to flange gasket
    • Warning: MEASURE stub length & depth BEFORE you buy!
  • Does NOT FIT M5R2 before 1999, M5R1, or any other model

  • IF YOU HAVE A 2"+ BODY LIFT (frame spacers): a different stick or extension bracket may be needed, study your situation BEFORE you buy!

Kit includes a Hurst chrome stick (# 4106) & classic knob, Core Shifters base, gasket, mounting hardware, dust cover boot, and installation instructions. Due to the tall factory console boot, a Hurst Super Boot is suggested (sold separately). Throw is reduced by ~ 44%

The base is built by Core Shifters using Hurst components inside a custom housing:

  • Heat-treated high-strength billet steel gear selector stub
  • Hardened steel cross-pin & glass-reinforced polyamide fulcrum pivot ring
  • Self-centering cross-gate bias springs with heat treated spring seats
  • CNC-machined billet aluminum housing with steel wear clips
  • Zinc-plated laser-cut steel cover
