Engraved knob lettering color change

This listing is not for parts but rather a modification to an existing knob, to be added to an order. Email us before ordering

Service to change line paint color on an engraved knob:

  • Only applies to thin line engraved knobs made of colored resin
    • Does NOT apply to painted/imprinted or bold lettered knobs
  • Specify new color in notes at checkout

It is possible to do this mod yourself with a few supplies. Soak the engraved area in isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol and scrub with a toothbrush every few minutes until paint is gone. Then wash knob with soap and water. Blow off engraved area with compressed air and let knob dry. Obtain a small bottle of acrylic craft paint (Liquitex etc) in the color you desire, put a drop of it on your fingertip and rub all over engraved area. Lightly wipe off majority of excess paint with a dry paper towel but don't attempt to make it perfect; let remaining paint dry for a few minutes. Fold up a paper towel to make a few layers and make it wet with alcohol (not soaked, just damp). Lightly wipe across surface to remove remaining smears. Do not work too much or too long over engraved lines or you may remove paint from engraving. Repeat as needed, waiting for alcohol on surface to dry before wiping again with clean part of paper towel.
