6" Chrome Short Shifter Stick & Knob for 1993-2002 Camaro & Firebird 6 speed
Chrome stick kit for 1993-2002 Camaro or Firebird (V8) w/ 6 speed manual trans. Available in three configurations:
- For stock shifter base (GM# 12523303)
- Mount stick curved FORWARD; smooth RH surface engages smooth stub on left
- WARNING: MUST be installed w/ curve forward or console will interfere!
- Knob height 2" shorter = 17% throw reduction
- For factory option Hurst shifter base (GM# 88893296)
- Mount stick curved rearward; LH mating serrations not used, smooth RH surface engages smooth stub on left
- Knob height 2" shorter = 17% throw reduction
- For Hurst Billet Plus shifters # 3915060 & 3915061 (angled stub, serrations on left)
- Mount stick curved rearward; RH mating serrations engage serrated stub on left
- Replaces Hurst sticks # 7238 & 8572
- Knob height 1.5" shorter = 13% throw reduction
- Does NOT FIT aftermarket Hurst Comp Plus shifters (#3910060 & 3910061) or any other brand as they have straight stubs that require an angled stick
VISUALLY CONFIRM YOUR SHIFTER BASE BEFORE PURCHASE!
- Stock GM shifter has a thin (~1/16") stamped sheetmetal baseplate with a perimeter lip that folds downward, and a round rubber dust boot. Factory option Hurst base has a 5/16" thick steel baseplate, a silver diecast housing, and a more rectangular boot. Both have a skinny yellow zinc-plated stub that is angled left & rearward in neutral and has M8 stick bolt threads
- Aftermarket Hurst Billet Plus bases have a dark grey stub that is angled left in neutral with 3/8" stick bolt threads and mating serrations on left
- Aftermarket Comp Plus bases have a dark grey stub that is dead vertical in neutral with 3/8" stick bolt threads and mating serrations on left
- Most other aftermarket bases with bolt-on stick have a large flat smooth stub that is dead vertical in neutral with M8 stick bolt threads
Kit includes chrome stick #7201, classic knob, and M8 adapter bolts for stock & most "non-Hurst" bases; 3/8"-24 stick bolts available by request
