Core Shifter Base: TR6060 swap from Camaro / GT500 / VE-VF

  • $ 17900

WARNING: shifter stick will come through floor directly above linkage cover ~19" from engine block! In most cars this is WAY too far forward (see pic). Confirm this position works before you buy any parts!! For more info click here

Core shifter base for custom conversions:

  • ONLY FITS TR6060 transmissions sourced from:
    • 2004-2007 Cadillac CTS-V (this is a TR6060 by shift rail architecture)
    • 2007-2014 Mustang Shelby GT500
    • 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP
    • 2010+ Camaro (V8)
    • 2014+ Chevrolet SS
    • 2007+ Holden Commodore VE & VF (Australian)
    • 2007+ Vauxhall VXR8
    • GM Performance # 24264047 (MG9) & 92246731
  • NOT FOR USE IN ANY OF THESE CARS! Stick is NOT offset rearward like OE & will NOT FIT in console - it would be ~15" ahead, under the dashboard...
  • Converts from remote OE cantilevered shifter to direct mount (replaces OE linkage cover - see transmission pic)
    • Fits onto transmission with NO modifications! Simply remove linkage cover and install base
    • PLEASE confirm this forward position will work for you - shifter stick will come through floor directly above linkage cover!
  • For driveshaft help - see these guys

This base will also fit the following TR6060 models BUT only in forward location (aka inspection port) which REQUIRES INTERNAL MODIFICATIONS to relocate shifter (cut rail & change to OE linkage receptacle such as GM #89059482 or 19210307 - NOT FOR USE WITH T56!). This base does NOT FIT at tail location where OE shifter mounts:

    • 2009-2014 Cadillac CTS-V
    • 2008-2017 Dodge Viper
    • 2008-2014 Ford Falcon FG XR models (Australian)
    • 2009+ Challenger - forward location ONLY - DOES NOT fit tail location where OE linkage enters trans! See my other listings for Challenger tail mount swap base
    • NOT FOR USE IN ANY OF THESE CARS! It is for people putting these transmissions into other (older) cars!
    • Does NOT FIT ANY T56 (except CTS-V) - see my other listings for different bases!
    • NOTE: Conversion parts from McLeod etc are NOT equivalent to OE TR6060 linkage receptacle - different depth - see the T56 conversion base listing

This base mounts on a 4-bolt rectangular pattern that is ~ 2.88" wide x 3.65" long; stub pivot ball center is ~1.5" below the flange. It only fits in forward location as discussed above. For tail location bases, see my other listings - these vary by model - TR6060 shifters are NOT universal!

A Hurst stick is required (sold separately). Other brands and homemade sticks are discouraged. Stick mount has 3/8"-24 threaded holes spaced 7/8" apart on center + mating serrations for a Hurst stick on one face. Due to larger mounting threads (3/8"-24), sticks that use 8mm mounting bolts (most OE, "non-TKO" Lokar, others) will not work. Lokar TKO sticks can be mounted but only to the smooth side of the stub. To select the proper parts:

    • Wait until new transmission is installed to buy shifter parts
      • Remove existing shifter base if present
      • Sit in vehicle, in driving position, with all interior trim (dash, console, etc) in place
    • Define desired knob location in space (neutral position):
      • Measure height from base flange to desired knob location = overall height
      • Measure side & rear offsets from receptacle bore to desired knob location
      • See this diagram for clarification
    • Study the Hurst stick page for shapes that meet your needs
      • Allow 3-6" for stick mount height
      • Choose a stick and see what fulcrum heights are compatible with it (see chart)
      • Check overall height (see chart: stick height + mount height = overall height)
    • Confirm chosen combination achieves desired knob location and that fulcrum height works with stick length selected
      • Consider various stick & stub combinations to optimize
      • Note long sticks on angled mounts will strongly offset knob to left (can be 5-6"+)
      • Note OE dust boot is short and exposes stick mount which helps in tight situations
      • Options E & F require a Hurst stick directly mounted on side w/ serrations

Stub fulcrum height options (critical to optimizing leverage for short throw):

Option For stick length stick mount height stick mount angle boot type upcharge
    A 8" 2.8 vertical Billet Plus default
    B 10" 3.3 vertical Billet Plus +$10
    C 10"+ 4.3 vertical OE (short) +$20
    D 12"+ 5.1 angled 14 deg left OE (short) +$30
    E 13"+ 4.0 angled 14 deg left Billet Plus +$40
    F 14"+ 4.2 angled 14 deg left Billet Plus +$40
    I 6" 3.3 vertical OE (short) +$80
    • Stick length = point-to-point distance from mount hole to knob thread
    • Stick mount height = distance from base flange to stick bolt hole (affects knob height)
    • Fulcrum height = distance from lower ball to fulcrum pin; varies by option, not published
      • Warning: Follow stick length guide to avoid excess effort & component failure

Kit includes mounting hardware, dust cover boot, and instructions. The base is built by Core Shifters using proven Hurst Billet Plus components inside a custom housing (not produced by Hurst, but made in USA). It does not have stops and does not need them; all modern internal rail trans have internal stops. This kit has many superior features & components, integrated into a unique, exclusive assembly:

    • Forged heat-treated billet steel gear selector stub
    • Hardened steel cross-pin & stainless steel fulcrum pivot ring
    • Self-centering cross-gate bias springs with heat treated spring seats
    • Glass-reinforced polyamide fulcrum socket with steel wear clips
    • Rubber oil control seal with steel retaining ring
    • 6061-T6 extruded aluminum housing with Spirolox steel support ring
    • Zinc-plated laser-cut steel base-plate & cover
    • Vibration-resistant serrated flange head steel retaining bolts
    • Rubber dust cover boot (style varies)
    • High quality & outstanding value!
