Shifter base for TR6060 LSx LTx swap from Camaro / G8 / SS / ATS-V / VE-VF
Shifter base for custom conversions using TR6060 transmissions sourced from:
- 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP
- 2010-2024 Camaro - V8 only
- 2015-2017 Chevrolet SS
- 2016-2019 Cadillac ATS-V
- 2022+ Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing
- 2022+ Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing
- 2007-2017 Holden Commodore VE & VF (V8 only)
- 2007-2017 HSV E-series & Gen-F aka Vauxhall VXR8
- NOT FOR USE IN ANY OF THESE CARS! Stick is NOT offset rearward like OE & will NOT FIT in console - it would be ~15" ahead, under the dashboard...
- ONLY works with TR6060 models that have a LINKAGE COVER at forward port
- NO modifications! Simply remove linkage cover and install base (see pics)
- Shifter stub will come through floor directly above linkage cover ~19" from engine block! In most cars this is WAY too far forward (see pic). For more info click here

This base does NOT FIT TR6060 models that have a BLANK COVER at forward port UNLESS trans is reconfigured into one of the models listed above - a VERY difficult, complicated, expensive job that we do not recommend (disassemble trans, cut rail and change lug, interlock paddle, tail housing, main shaft, maybe more?). If you have a 2009-2015 Cadillac CTS-V TR6060 aka GM # 24264047 ; 24258817 "MG9" - reconfigure it to become a 2010+ Camaro TR6060 to use this base or a Challenger TR6060 to use a tail base... For Viper, Falcon, & Challenger, see the tail bases that directly replace the OE shifter (forward location not really an option).
This base does NOT FIT ANY T56 - different detent architecture requires different parts!- NOTE: Conversion parts from McLeod & Keisler / SST etc are NOT equivalent to OE TR6060 linkage receptacle - different depth, different base
This base mounts on a 4-bolt rectangular pattern that is ~ 2.88" wide x 3.65" long; stub pivot ball center is ~1.5" below the flange. It only fits in forward location as discussed above. For tail location bases, see separate listings - these vary by model
A Hurst stick is required (NOT included, sold separately). Other brands and homemade sticks are discouraged. Stick mount has 3/8"-24 threaded holes spaced 7/8" apart on center + mating serrations for a Hurst stick on one face. Due to larger mounting threads (3/8"-24), sticks that use 8mm mounting bolts (most OE, "non-TKO" Lokar, others) will not work. Lokar TKO sticks can be mounted but only to the smooth side of the stub. To select the proper parts:
- Wait until new transmission is installed to buy shifter parts
- Remove existing shifter base if present
- Sit in vehicle, in driving position, with all interior trim (dash, console, etc) in place
- Define desired knob location in space (neutral position):
- Measure height from base flange to desired knob location = overall height
- Measure side & rear offsets from receptacle bore to desired knob location
- See this diagram for clarification
- Study the Hurst stick page for shapes that meet your needs
- Allow 3-6" for stick mount height
- Choose a stick and see what fulcrum heights are compatible with it (see chart)
- Check overall height (see chart: stick height + mount height = overall height)
- Confirm chosen combination achieves desired knob location and that fulcrum height works with stick length selected
- Consider various stick & stub combinations to optimize
- Note long sticks on angled mounts will strongly offset knob to left (can be 5-6"+)
- Options E & F require a Hurst stick directly mounted on side w/ serrations
Stub fulcrum height options (critical to optimizing leverage for short throw):
Option | For stick length | stick mount height | stick mount angle | upcharge |
---|---|---|---|---|
A | 8" | 2.8 | vertical | default |
B | 10" | 3.3 | vertical | +$10 |
C | 10"+ | 4.3 | vertical | +$20 |
D | 12"+ | 5.1 | angled 14 deg left | +$30 |
E | 13"+ | 4.0 | angled 14 deg left | +$40 |
F | 14"+ | 4.2 | angled 14 deg left | +$40 |
I | 6" | 3.3 | vertical | +$80 |
- Stick length = point-to-point distance from mount hole to knob thread
- Stick mount height = distance from base flange to stick bolt hole (affects knob height)
- Fulcrum height = distance from lower ball to fulcrum pin; varies by option, not published
- Warning: Follow stick length guide to avoid excess effort & component failure
Kit includes mounting hardware and instructions. The base is built by Core Shifters using proven components inside a custom housing:
- Billet steel gear selector stub
- Hardened steel cross-pin & stainless steel fulcrum pivot ring
- Self-centering cross-gate bias springs with heat treated spring seats
- Glass-reinforced polyamide fulcrum socket with steel wear clips
- Extruded aluminum housing with Spirolox steel support ring
- Zinc-plated laser-cut steel base-plate & cover
- Rubber oil control seal with steel retaining ring
- Vibration-resistant serrated flange head steel retaining bolts
