Core shifter base for conversions using Mazda R1 (M5OD) 5 speed manual trans:

  • Can be used as a replacement for the Hurst base in kits # 3915020 & 5021
    • Hurst stick # 4106 required
      • Longer sticks can cause the stub to break due to excess leverage
    • Stub depth varies by model & year - MAKE SURE you choose the correct trans model!
      • 1988-1994 Ranger: stock stub = 4 5/8"� overall, 2 3/4" below gasket
      • 1995-2011 Ranger: stock stub = 5" overall, 3 1/8" below gasket
      • 1988-1998 F150: stock stub = 5 1/8"� overall, 3 1/8"� below gasket
      • 1999-2008 F150: stock stub = 5 5/8" overall, 3 5/8" below gasket
  • This is the same base used by the new Core Shifters kits for Ranger
    • This is NOT the same base used by the Core Shifters kit for F150
    • The fulcrum height of this base works best with a 11-12" stick length; for custom jobs requiring a longer stick, email us

Hurst stick # 4106 is required (sold separately). Other brands and homemade sticks are discouraged. Stick mount has 3/8"-24 threaded holes spaced 7/8" apart on center + mating serrations for a Hurst stick on one face.

Kit includes Core Shifters base, gasket, mounting hardware, dust cover boot, and installation instructions. Bulk parts; no retail pkg. Throw reduction depends on model and stick but ranges from 30-45%.

The base is built by Core Shifters using B&M / Hurst "Billet Plus 2" components inside a custom housing. It does not have stops and does not need them; all modern internal rail trans have internal stops. This kit has many superior features & components, integrated into a unique, exclusive assembly:

  • Heat-treated billet steel gear selector stub
  • Hardened steel cross-pin & glass-reinforced polyamide fulcrum pivot ring
  • Self-centering cross-gate bias springs with heat treated spring seats
  • CNC-machined 6061-T6 billet aluminum housing with steel wear clips
  • Zinc-plated laser-cut steel cover
  • OE-type rubber dust cover boot
  • Pan-head allen bolts with toothed lockwashers to mount stick
