Core Shifter w/ Hurst stick for GM Silverado & Sierra HD : 2001-2007 w/ 5 speed (NV4500)

Short throw shifter kit for OE replacement on 5 speed manual trans in:

  • 2001-2007 Chevy Silverado & GMC Sierra 2500 & 3500 series trucks (GMT880)
    • 6.0L gas engine only - RPO LQ4
      • Does NOT FIT 2001-2002 GMT480 HD classic trucks (flat door handles)

ONLY FITS NV4500 trans specific to these GM models - RPO MW3, cast iron case

  • Replaces GM # 12478063 ; 33906
    • Compatible w/ case cover GM # 12478062 ; 33900 - no others!
  • Does NOT FIT 6.6 or 8.1L (6 speed), older models (shorter stub), 1500 series, any Dodge, or any other model
  • If your trans is not original, confirm it has a bolt-on shifter base & lid casting # 33983
    • WARNING: does NOT FIT 1995-2000 GM NV4500 (lid casting # 18860 or 25137, 1/4" shorter mount)

Available in three knob heights:

  • For trucks w/ stock body frame bushings (no spacers):
    • 3" lower than stock (default, recommended for 2500 "non-HD")
      • Stick # 0292, 16" from base flange to top of knob; 35% throw reduction
    • 1" higher than stock (recommended for 2500HD & 3500)
      • Stick # 0295, 20" from base flange to top of knob; 22% throw reduction
  • For trucks w/ aftermarket body lift (frame spacers) add an extension bracket:
    • 3" higher than stock : + $10
      • Stick # 0295; 22" from base flange to top of knob; 15% throw reduction

Kit includes a Hurst chrome stick & classic knob, Core Shifters base, mounting hardware, dust cover boot, and installation instructions. The base is built by Core Shifters using proven Hurst Billet Plus components inside a custom housing:

  • Heat-treated billet steel gear selector stub
  • Hardened steel cross-pin & stainless steel fulcrum pivot ring
  • Self-centering cross-gate bias springs with heat treated spring seats
  • Glass-reinforced polyamide fulcrum socket with steel wear clips
  • Rubber oil control seal with steel retaining ring
  • Extruded aluminum housing with Spirolox steel support ring
  • Zinc-plated laser-cut steel cover with heat-treated spring retainer straps
  • Zinc-plated laser-cut steel baseplate
  • Vibration-resistant serrated flange head steel retaining bolts
  • Rubber dust cover boot
  • Pan-head allen bolts with toothed lockwashers to mount stick
  • Traditional forged billet steel triple chrome-plated Hurst stick
  • Classic Hurst shift knob
