Short throw shifter kit with Hurst HardDrive pistol grip handle for OE replacement in:

• 1997-2004 Chevrolet Corvette (C5) - all models with 6 speed manual trans

• Stick is CNC-machined, polished billet aluminum w/ "HURST" engraved on rear
• Grip is "titanium" gray anodized aluminum (# 5388655)
• Also available with BLACK delrin (# 5388656) grip - specify w/ payment
• NOTE: Pictured aluminum boot support is no longer available - NOT included!
• A simple rubber grommet is included in its place
• Lower pivot cup NOT included - reuse OE or buy separately
• Stock shifter base mounting bolts are reused; if you presently have an aftermarket shifter and do not have the stock mounting bolts, request bolts with payment

Kit includes a Hurst HardDrive handle, Core Shifters base, gasket, stick mounting hardware, console boot adapter grommet (optional), and installation instructions. ~1-1.5" will need to be cut off top of leather console boot (w/ scissors) to accommodate this stick, slightly more to use the grommet.

Throw is reduced by ~ 50% (at true handle grip center). Top of handle is ~ 3/4" shorter than stock. Other versions of this shifter are available (see separate listings)

The base is NOT a Hurst product; compared to all brands it is smaller and simpler but fits and works better. The base is built by Core Shifters using proven components inside a custom housing:

• High-strength billet steel gear selector w/ hardened steel crosspin
  
• Spherical fulcrum pivot in a spring-loaded, self-lubricating polymer socket
• Low-friction captured design - no bias springs
• Effort to enter reverse and 5-6 gate is minimized
• 2-3 shift improved by reduced leverage without adding excess force
