Short throw shifter kit for M5R2 conversion in 1988-2011 Ford Ranger using 5 speed manual trans sourced from:

  • 1988-1998 Ford F-150
  • 1988-1998 Ford F-250 (GVWR < 8500)
  • 1988-1996 Ford Bronco


ONLY FITS Mazda M5OD-R2 manual trans produced BEFORE 1999

  • 80mm from stub tip to flange gasket
    • Warning: MEASURE stub length & depth BEFORE you buy!
  • Does NOT FIT 1999 & newer R2 (XL34 ID tag), R1, or any other model

Kit includes PLAIN chrome stick #4106, classic knob, base assembly, gasket, mounting hardware, dust cover boot, and installation instructions. Due to the tall factory console boot, a SuperBoot is suggested (optional upgrade, additional charge). Throw is reduced by ~ 44%

The base is built by Core Shifters using proven components inside a custom housing:

  • High-strength billet steel gear selector stub w/ induction hardened tip
  • Hardened steel cross-pin & glass-reinforced polyamide fulcrum pivot ring
  • Self-centering cross-gate bias springs with heat treated spring seats
  • CNC-machined billet aluminum housing with steel wear clips
  • Laser-cut steel lid
