M5R1 has solid main case with integral bellhousing (no oil pan); TK & FM units have separate bellhousings + bolt-on oil pans
- M5R1 has a removable shifter stick that attaches to a short stub with a 3-bolt cover. For more M5OD info, see here

TK's have a finned cast aluminum oil pan w/ 14 bolts and drain plug at corner

Plastic shifter base (usually yellow) w/ rectangular bolt pattern
- Diesel TK's have NO oil pan, and aluminum shifter base of different bolt pattern - sample wanted

FM's have a stamped steel oil pan w/ 12 bolts and drain plug at center.
- FM145 has a black plastic shifter base w/ trapezoidal bolt pattern

FM132 & FM146 have a metal shifter flange (no plastic housing) with a square 4-bolt pattern
